Troubleshooting AEG Washing Machines

AEG washing machines may be well designed and very durable. But that doesn’t mean that you will not experience problems when using them.

However, most of the time, the problem isn’t actually with the AEG washing machine, but with the people using them. Here is a list of problems commonly encountered with AEG washing machines.

AEG Washing Machine Cannot Start

Strangely enough, the most commonly seen problem with AEG washing machines is with starting them. When AEG washing machines fail to start, people tend to jump to the conclusion that they have bought a faulty machine. But the truth is, most issues with AEG washing machines start up has to do with the power source.

The power source was either not plugged in or the switch had not been on. There is nothing wrong with the AEG washing machine, remember to check your power source when you have a start up problem.

If the plug is secure and the power is on, it may be because you have a damaged power cord or a blown fuse. You can test this out by using a separate power cord for the AEG washing machine. If it runs, your power cord is the main issue.

Replace or repair your power cord if you know how to, otherwise, you can wait for the friendly serviceman from AEG to do the job for you.

AEG Washing Machine Not Spinning

If the power is ok and your AEG washing machine is on, but it still does not spin, you may have overloaded the machine. Each AEG washing machine comes with a suggested capacity and too many clothes can overload the machine. This prevents the tub from spinning normally and the machine is unable to start. In the same way, the agitator of your AEG washing machines may not spin because of the same reason.

To solve the problem, reduce the amount of clothes you have in the machine. Remember to read the instruction manual that came with your AEG washing machines. They will provide you information on the load capacity that your AEG washing machine was designed for. If your AEG washing machine still does not spin after reducing the load, then you may need to call for the repair man.

AEG Washing Machines Make too Much Noise

AEG washing machines are built to work silently. If your AEG washing machine runs noisily, it may be due to it being overloaded, or running too near its maximum capacity for prolonged periods of time. The AEG washing machine is still able to spin, but there is undue stress on the machine.

This stress leads to creaky gears and machine arms that move noisily. This result in a noisy machine that is less efficient in cleaning your clothes.

If the AEG washing machine is not running with a heavy load but continues to run nosily, a moving part of the AEG washing machine could be loose or broken. While this is a very rare situation, unless your AEG washing machine is more than five years old, the only solution for a broken part is to call in an AEG repair man.

Washing has become a very important ritual in the modern family. We rely on washing machines to do our job so much that when they break down, our routines suddenly get thrown upside down.

Luckily AEG washing machines are so well designed that they almost never let us down. But all machines experience wear and tear and they eventually require repair. AEG washing machines are the same, but they have very good service and the repair man can usually solve your problems all in a day’s work.
